Christmas Through the Year

Just a few gifts were finished this month.  I had almost enough strips from the journal I made earlier this month and thought it would make a nice gift...
I made a couple more book marks....Karen from Sew Many Ways has this great tutorial for making heart bookmarks

And....I finished these two baby/children's hats.
I started a few more gifts (candle mat, table runners) and I hope to finish them before April 30th.
Thank you Darlene at Quilting Daze  and Cheryl at Polka Dots & Rick Rack  for hosting Christmas through the Year.

Another One Flower Wednesday and Quilting Retreat

I spent a long weekend at a Quilting Retreat and had a great time.  I think I talked a little more than sewed but learned so much.  My daughter turned 19 while I was there and she stopped by to visit - Jinnie had baked her a delicious Chocolate Birthday Cake - yum!
I made a few bookmarks, worked on a unfinished project:  Hay Bale by Edyta Sitar

It's still unfinished........

Started a new project for Scrap Club, Bow Ties this month:

Haven't decided how I'll put them together yet or what size to make - but I used batik scraps with a patterned black fabric.

I did finish my Chili Rounder table mat by Pam Wolf.  My FMQ isn't the greatest but this Saturday I'm taking a class and with practice I hope to improve.

I finished a hexie today so not to miss this Wednesday and I showed Gayle at the retreat how to make a hexie and she's already addicted.  Maybe she join One Flower Wednesday hosted by Karen and join in on the fun.

Have a great week...

One Flower Wednesday

I finally finished a flower this week...

Visit Karen's One Flower Wednesday to see what's blooming!

I also finished my March BOM Memories of Provence before the month was up...YEAH!

I did a swap hosted by Cheryll at Gone Stitchin" Let's Exchange.  We were to make and exchange a journal cover and pen.  My swap partner was Margaret - Look at the beautiful journal cover I received!  She included a pen, pencil, a great snack and a pretty butterfly bookmark.  Thanks Margaret!

Here is a picture of the journal I sent Margaret

Happy Stitching!!!

One Flower Wednesdayand New Projects

Two blooms to add to my garden this week.  I tried taking pictures outside but the flowers kept blowing away - it's 80 degrees and a little windy here, not common for Northern Illinois in March.

Visit Karen at One Flower Wednesday to see what's blooming in other gardens.

My first journal cover!  I thought I should do a trial run (a great idea) before making one for Let's Exchange hosted by Cheryll.  The swap journal went smoothly and will be mailed out before the end of the week.  I'll post a picture after its received.

I also started a BOM - Memories of Provence in January for $5.  As long as I keep up to date the other blocks are free.

I'm trying to finish up a few other projects but I keep starting NEW ONES!  Maybe next week I'll finish something...

One Flower Wednesday

Another flower bloomed this week in my garden...it's been over 60 degrees the past couple of days in northern Illinois.  I thought March was suppose to come in like a lion and out like a lamb.....

I've started a new BOM, been working on 'chili art' and almost have a quilt done...pictures next week.

Stop by One Flower Wednesday and see what else is blooming.
